EBIC Summit 2024 in Brussels, Belgium
The EBIC (European Biostimulants Industry Council) Summit took place on June 12, 2024, in Brussels.
EBIC's annual summit aims to bring together policy makers, food chain leaders, NGOs and academics to discuss how to meet the growing demand for food in the face of many challenges.
EBIC defines plant biostimulants as a technology that enables sustainable agriculture and helps farmers mitigate the effects of climate change, improve soil health and support yields.
Ensuring food safety and quality and supporting farmers in turbulent times were the topics of the summit. The event also focused on the need for all stakeholders to work together to ensure future food security and sustainability. There was a very broad range of international speakers representing many different players in agriculture, which allowed for a lively and fruitful exchange.
Pascal Forrer, President of AIAG, represented the crop insurance industry at the "Managing Climate Risks" roundtable and explained its significant contribution to stabilising farmers' incomes and the importance of making agriculture in general more resilient in the face of climate change.
AIAG is grateful for the invitation to participate in this successful event, which also enabled the establishment of new and enriching contacts.
