On August 21, 2025, the Taian Agricultural Insurance Research Institute, together with leading academic and industry partners, successfully hosted the TAIAN Agricultural Risk Management Seminar 2025 in Datong, Shanxi Province.
With the theme “Building a Multi-layered Agricultural Insurance System to Support Rural Revitalization”, the event gathered 500 experts onsite and over 20,000 participants online – including leaders from China’s ministries, regulators and local governments. AIAG President Pascal Forrer accompanied by Thomas Gehrke shared insights on advancing sustainable agricultural insurance worldwide. He highlighted AIAG as unique platform where professionals form around the world can share knowledge, discuss challenges and exchange new technologies and research. “China plays a major role in the global agri-insurance market”, emphasized the AIAG President.
The seminar launched the “Multi-layered Agricultural Insurance Initiative”, released major research reports, and introduced SSAI, an AI- and data-driven solution for comprehensive agricultural risk management.
The event has reinforced its role as an international platform for knowledge sharing, innovation, and cooperation in agricultural insurance.
